Some styles of earrings can change their shape after being wet. And darker dyes, like Maroon, will leak their color when wet. Be cautious!
If water has gotten the best of your earrings, try this --- place earrings on a flat surface, reshape to original shape, then allow them to air dry. They will hold this shape until the next time you jump in the lake with them on ;)
